DON’T LET DEPRESSION KILL YOU

Everyone has good and bad days. But some people have more bad days than good. It takes courage to turn those bad days into good days.
Because of the economic had ships ,unemployment that our country Zimbabwe is facing it is seen that a lot of people especially the youths are victims to depression.

Depression is the world's leading cause of suicides per year. No one knows  how many Zimbabweans suffer from kufungisisa, the local word for depression(literally, “thinking too much” in Shona).

Depression is an extremely serious mental health condition that can become deadly if it isn’t treated. Here are some of the ways which I found working :

BE OPEN
be open find some one who is close to you ,whom you can share with all the things troubling you.
Seek guidance and counseling from elderly people. It is said wine gets better with age , same as wisdom. The old people will give you smart ways in how you can survive in the environment even if it seems to be the survival of the fittest environment you will be among those.

BE PRAYERFUL AND HAVE FAITH
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
(For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future)
If you believe in the word of God turn each bad day to a blessing thank God for the troubles you are facing baring it in heart that one day surely he will bless you, and with faith you can turn mountains. There is no way God is going to forsake you to leave a life without a meaning.

FIND SOMETHING TO OCCUPY YOU,
spend more time in doing things which will reduce your stress level for example reading books and or take your time write down all the things that seem to be difficult in your life. By doing this you will be relaxing your mind lowering the blood pressure.
EXERCISE
it triggers the growth of new brain cells and connections, just like antidepressants do. Best of all, you don’t have to train for a marathon in order to reap the benefits. Even a half-hour daily walk can make a big difference.

 SLEEP
give yourself enough time to sleep. Sleep makes you feel better, but its importance goes way beyond just boosting your mood, it also boosts your memory. Adequate sleep is a key part of a healthy lifestyle, and can benefit your heart. Lack of sleep has been associated with worsening of blood pressure and cholesterol, which are risk factors for heart disease and stroke.

In the words of Earl Nightingal, "Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored."
